India’s leading Animation, VFX and Multimedia institute, Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC) South Extension, Pitampura and Rajouri Garden presented the 5th edition of annual “Delhi CG Animation Awards” at The Ansal Plaza, Khel gaon, New Delhi on 11th April, 2016.

Films. Awards. Industry Veterans. Youngsters. And to top it all, the energy of “Dilli”!!

These were the key ingredients in the making of the daylong event. It kick started with the screening of 64 movies received in Student Closed Category made by 700+ students from MAAC South Extention, Pitampura and Rajouri Garden.

Like in all its previous editions, DCGAA 2016 had an esteemed panel consisting of reputed Studios like Sparrow Interactive Pvt. Ltd., Riverbank Studios, 29 Kreativ Studios, Charuvi Design Labs, Digitoonz Studio, Officially Toonz Studios, as a part of its jury along with names like Mr. Mr. Abhishek Krishnan, Technical Specialist (M&E) India and SAARC, Autodesk, Mr. Subhajit Sarkar, Talent Acquisition Manager, Prime Focus World, Abir Aich, AVP – Aptech, Mr. Pradeep Sawant, Technical Head – North Zone, MAAC, to review and determine the winners in categories ranging from 3D, Vfx, Live Action, 2D and Experimental Animation Film Making.

Throughout the day, sessions, activities and on the spot competitions organized for students from WACOM, Canon, Autodesk and MAAC centres of Pitampura, Rajouri Garden and South Extension kept the excitement of the audiences buzzing.

The awards ceremony opened with the traditional way of lighting the lamp by Mr. Deepak Choudhary, Founder Director, Delhi CG Animation Awards, Mr. Pradeep Sawant, Technical Head – North Zone, MAAC, Mr. Manish Mathur, Regional Sales Head, North Zone, MAAC and a key note speech by Mr. Deepak Choudhary, Founder Director, Delhi CG Animation Awards .

The excitement unleashed thereon, when students performed one spectacular act after another enthralling the audience. The students of MAAC danced, play acted and anchored the show with commendable grandeur. They proved to be not only Animated Film Making aficionados but also turned out to be extremely multi-talented.

The awards were divided into open (Nation-wide) and closed (Delhi-Level) category. The eyes of the winners were lit up on winning the prestigious trophies of DCGAA along with rewards and goodies from Rayvision, WACOM and Canon.

Post event, Mr. Deepak Choudhary, Director, DCGAA said that, “Delhi CG Animation Awards successfully completes its 5th edition, this year. We have now completed a phase in the lifecycle of the platform. Moving ahead, we look to introduce new opportunities for a larger base of artists and creative thinkers across the globe. We thank everyone for supporting up.
